Indiana University Alumni Magazine hired us to create illustrations for a article titled "The Dog Ate My Homework." The story highlighted some of the more unusual excuses and tactics students have employed to explain missed deadlines and test dates. We were provided with a draft of the article and a general direction for the illustrations. The final product ran in the magazine's Fall 2017 issue.

The original concept was fanciful. The client ultimately chose a more realistic direction.
We presented the client with several options for the spot illustrations. All of these concepts were pulled from stories in the article. This step also gave the client a chance to see several character design options.
